Another Day in Paradise – call for Submissions
Another day in Paradise is seeking photos and all manner of article contributions in a variety of topics relating to the Zihuatanejo area and/or Mexico. Possible topics range from: Art (regional, national) Architecture (regional, tropical), Travel, Food (cooking, recipes, tropical drinks), History (archeological to recent), Wildlife- Flora and Fauna , day trips, Shopping, Book Reviews, Movie Reviews, Sporting events, Music, things to see and do, fiction, anecdotes, humor and complete and total et cetera. This is your chance to be heard.
All articles need to be in English or with translation. All articles edited for content and/or sunny dispositions. Don’t be shy, share your expertise. 1000 print readers and 1000 web readers a month want to hear what you have to say.

| Adobe is Spanish for a sun-dried brick or the clay soil from which the brick is made. Adobe has been used for thousands of years to build houses. Ancient Babylonians, ancient Egyptians and Native American cultures of North and South America have used adobe, but it is now found mostly in North Africa, Mexico and the southwestern United States. |

| They say the Copper Canyon is four times the size of America’s Grand Canyon. And if you judge the size by the length of the train ride through it, I’d put it at a good 10 times larger. Barranca del Cobre consists of 20 canyons and some of the most spectacular scenery in Mexico. |

| The beginning of the month brought excellent Sailfish action that waned with the coming of the full moon and a slightly colder offshore current appearing in the latter portion of the month. Though this moves the blue water out from the bay, the colder current also brings the Marlin and big Tuna. |

| For those of you who are not familiar with the song by Jimmy Buffet, let me help you get up to speed…”I like mine with lettuce and tomato, Heinz 57 and French fried potatoes, a big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer.” Universally, cheeseburgers should be served with all of the above, and there some places here in Zihuatanejo that do it right, complete with all the fixings. |

| Sunday March 12th, Kate and Andrew, the owners of Nirvana Sailing Tours and their friends John and Yvette (Speedy) hosted a fund-raiser for Niños Adelante. People came costumed in their Age of Aquarius costumes and danced and drank till the wee hours. |

| So you’re on vacation, drinking in the sun and cervezas. The most problematic thing for you at this stage is Margarita…Piña Colada?… Margarita…Piña Colada? Then the cheque comes, and your fumbling through, figuring out which colour pesos to use when a little thought comes creeping in, Do I Tip In Mexico? |

| Results are in from the county fair held here in Zihuatanejo Jan. 26th-Feb. 6th. 120,000 people came, up from 86,000 just 2 years ago. With rides, games, food, live music and much more, it was not to be missed. |

| The 72nd Annual Academy Awards are coming up this month (Sunday March 26th, 5:00 PST) and as usual this time of year, the media buzz is deafening. Well, at least in America, that is. If you’re living in Mexico or have been in Zihuatanejo for any length of time, its just possible you’ve never heard of any of these movies. |
